Terms & Conditions
The terms governing use of the TablePad desktop app, website, playground, and update downloads.
Last updated: October 12, 2026
Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the TablePad desktop application, the hosted web app at app.tablepad.dev, the website at tablepad.dev, and any related software or update downloads (together, the "Software") operated by Strum Technology Corp, a Delaware corporation doing business as TablePad ("us", "we", or "our").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not use the Software. If you are using the Software on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to that organization.
2. Description of Software
The Mac app is local software you run on your own computer. It connects from your machine to databases you choose; we do not proxy those connections or receive their contents.
We also operate a hosted web app at app.tablepad.dev (see §6). That service is separate from the Mac app and has its own storage rules.
The Software may include:
- A macOS desktop application that connects from your machine to databases you choose
- Optional over-the-air updates: when the app launches it may check a public CDN for a newer signed app bundle and download that bundle
- The marketing website at tablepad.dev
- The hosted web app at app.tablepad.dev (shared sample workspace plus optional Cloudflare D1 workspaces you create)
For the desktop app, the only infrastructure we publish is static update metadata and app-bundle files. That check and download do not upload your workspace, connection settings, SQL, query results, or canvas contents to us.
3. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Software. The Software is not intended for children under 13.
4. Your data stays with you
In the Mac app, connection strings, API keys, query drafts, table edits, canvas documents, and UI state are stored on your device.
In the hosted web app, workspace metadata and app state you create are stored in infrastructure we operate (see §6). The shared sample workspace uses demo data we provide; Cloudflare D1 workspaces use databases and credentials you configure for D1.
- We do not create user accounts
- We do not sync your workspaces to servers we operate
- We do not receive or store the contents of databases you connect
- You are solely responsible for the databases you connect to, the credentials you store on your device, and backups of anything you create in the app
You represent that you are authorized to access the databases and services you connect through TablePad.
5. Optional AI features
AI features are optional. If you enable them, you supply your own API keys for a provider you choose (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, or Google). Requests go from your device to that provider. We do not proxy, host, or retain those requests, your keys, or your prompts.
Those providers' terms and privacy policies apply to any data you send them. You are responsible for configuring and using AI features in a way that complies with your own obligations.
6. Hosted web app (app.tablepad.dev)
The hosted web app is provided as-is. It includes a read-only Sample store workspace on demo data we operate and lets you create your own workspaces that connect to Cloudflare D1. We assign an anonymous browser cookie so returning visits can load workspaces you created; there is no TablePad account or sign-in.
Do not enter personal, confidential, or production data you are not willing to store in this hosted environment. We may reset demo data, impose limits, or change or discontinue the web app at any time.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Software in violation of any law or others' rights
- Attempt unauthorized access to databases, accounts, or systems you are not permitted to use
- Probe, disrupt, or overload the website, playground, or update CDN except as allowed for ordinary use
- Reverse engineer the Software except as allowed by law
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the Software without our prior written consent
- Circumvent update signing, license, or integrity checks
- Use the playground to store or transmit unlawful content
8. Updates and availability
On launch, the desktop app may request manifest.json from our public CDN and, if a newer signed bundle is available, download it. Without a network connection the app can continue using a previously downloaded bundle; the first launch typically needs network access to obtain a bundle.
We aim to keep the website, playground, and update files available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Software, including updates and the playground, at any time.
You are responsible for applying updates you choose to install and for verifying that an update is suitable for your environment.
9. Third-party services
The Software may connect to services you configure — including your own PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, Supabase, Cloudflare D1, or other databases, and LLM providers you enable. Their terms and privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control, including outages, data loss, or policy changes.
The marketing website, playground UI, and update files may be served via Cloudflare. Cloudflare's terms apply to that hosting.
10. Intellectual property
We and our licensors retain all rights in the Software, including the app, website, playground, trademarks, and documentation. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the desktop app for your own purposes, subject to these Terms.
You retain all rights in the databases, queries, and documents you create or access with the Software.
11. Fees
If we offer paid licenses or plans, current pricing will be described on our website at the time of purchase. Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law. Promotional pricing may be time-limited.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end access to the website, playground, or updates if you violate these Terms, with notice where practicable. Upon termination, provisions that by nature should survive will survive.
Uninstalling the app does not delete databases you connected to. Local app data on your device may remain until you remove it.
13. Disclaimers
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT QUERIES, EDITS, EXPORTS, UPDATES, OR AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR FIT FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
YOU USE TABLEPAD TO CONNECT TO YOUR OWN DATA STORES AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DATA LOSS, CORRUPTION, OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS ARISING FROM CREDENTIALS STORED ON YOUR DEVICE, QUERIES OR EDITS YOU RUN, OR THIRD-PARTY DATABASES AND MODELS YOU USE.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING FROM DATABASE OUTAGES, FAILED UPDATES, OR THIRD-PARTY AI OR HOSTING PROVIDERS. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF THE SOFTWARE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
15. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Software, the databases and services you connect, content you submit to third-party AI providers, your violation of §7 (Acceptable use), or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
16. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains that we do not operate a product backend that collects your workspace or database data, and how the website, playground, and update downloads work. It is incorporated by reference into these Terms.
17. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version on this page. Material changes may be communicated on the website when appropriate. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Delaware (or, if required, the federal courts sitting there) shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
